Swiss watchmaker Reservoir gears up for a new race as two new timepieces join the Reservoir GT Tour collection.
May 23, 2023: The new addition to Reservoir’s GT tour collection is already available in store, so all F1 fans and sports geeks should buckle up to witness the thrill of these incredible watches at least once, before they vanish into the hands of watch connoisseurs.
This year, the collection sees the arrival of two new energetic interpretations of the racing spirit, GT Tour Spring Lap and GT Tour Racing. The new GT Tour Spring lap features a contrast of matte black dial and a green minute hand, reflecting the racing car meters, offering maximum legibility.
Unlike the GT Tour Spring lap that embodies the spirit of classic car races, the new GT Tour Racing pays tribute to the codes and the world of contemporary motor racing, whose associated advanced technologies are constantly evolving. For the design, the brand turned to the materials used in the world’s most powerful and durable Formula 1 cars, for which carbon is a necessary component to produce remarkable performance.
With a matte black dial made of carbon fiber, the watch has a robust and powerful personality and can be worn with a steel bracelet or calf leather strap. Diving deep into the world of race cars and their unparalleled mechanical ability, this timepiece is a perfect riding companion.
But what makes it even more special is the new RSV-240 caliber developed by Reservoir in partnership with Telos, a specialist in creating bespoke watch motors. All Reservoir collections have been equipped with a bespoke 124-piece module, designed by Telos, called P068, which drives the three watchmaking complications (retrograde minute, jumping hour and 37-hour power reserve), mounted on a Swiss automatic movement. In 2022, this module, still featuring the previous three horological complications, is enhanced with other facilities, creating the new Reservoir RSV-240 caliber. This new P168 module is now coupled to a manufacturing movement (LJP-G100 base) and has an increased power reserve of 56 hours.
Inspired by the legendary sport of motor racing that has its own fanatical fan base, the GT Tour collection is all about precise engineering and spectacular designs, that both cars and watches share.
