The Taj Mahal Hotel hosts carnival to support breast cancer
March 20, 2012: The Taj Mahal Hotel organized a carnival for the cause of spreading awareness about breast cancer. The carnival was organized as an initiative to raise funds to support the Ogaan Cancer Foundation and Women’s Cancer Initiative - Tata Memorial Hospital that work in the area of breast health. The carnival witnessed famous names of the fashion fraternity who donated their creations that were retailed through the carnival. Participating designers included Rohit Bal, Suneet Varma, Gaurav Gupta, Namrata Joshipura, Ranna Gill, Kavita Bhartia among others.
A silent auction featuring designer merchandise from various luxury brands like Estee Lauder, Armani Fragrances and Swarovski was also conducted at the carnival. Others products from brands such as Giorgio Armani, Christian Dior, Ermengildo Zegna, Chanel, Salvatore Ferragamo, Gucci, Tod’s, Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Tag Heuer, Tumi, Zoya by Tanishq, Hermes, and Ganjam were also available for auction.
The carnival was a unique way to raise funds as the designer wear was affordably priced to enable a wider audience to contribute and be a part of this initiative. The event spreads awareness about breast cancer in a way that educates, creates an impression, and celebrates the determination of women to overcome the illness. All the money raised at the event goes to the go to the Tata Memorial Hospital’s Women’s Cancer Initiative.
