Earlier spas were places to go to if you wanted to feel pampered and special. However, this concept has changed now, especially because of the recent economic downturn. As stress levels zoomed up, the importance of a stress-busting spa massage increased. A spa trip has now, as New York Times puts it, become an investment of sorts in well-being.
That’s exactly the philosophy that The Farm at San Benito wishes to spread. Spas are not just a place to go to when you want to relax. It’s also about wellness, prevention and recovery. Save your carbon-filled body with all that is natural and pure. Nestled in a cozy spot between trees and lush greenery, The Farm is located in an organic coconut and coffee plantation at 1,025 feet above sea level. Situated 80 kilometers south of the Philippines capital city Manila in Batangas, the driving distance from Metro Manila and the Metro Manila International Airport is two hours.
Live it up
Its 24 rooms, suites and villas, situated in the center of the plantation, draw inspiration from the abundant natural surroundings. The restaurant, spa, lounges, all are settled within lush foliages. Refreshing natural views complement the remarkable architecture of the spa.
The rustic Sulu and Anahaw suites are inspired by the local Philippines traditional houses, with a unique two-floor design. They are a delight to see and behold. Tastefully appointed, Palmera Suites are furnished in a tropical modern style. The Garden Villas are again designed in a tropical modern style with warm wood finishing and open air bathrooms. The Master Villa takes the central position at The Farm. It is has a private garden, pool and magnificent views to the Malarayat mountain range.

Their organic gardens provide the majority of fresh produce, harvested each day, and used in their spa treatments and food. Their ‘Wheat Grass Bungalow’ produces wheat grass for juice and therapies. In other words, The Farm is fairly self-sufficient when it comes to food produce. Their water source comes from a well located at 1,000 feet below the ground. This water has hence been classified as ‘Healing Water’.
The Farm’s European inspired medical therapies are an integral part of the healing process at The Farm. Their medical treatments eliminate toxins and are supported by a wide range of natural spa treatments. Spiritual development and movement sessions are also offered to improve balance, well-being and support sustainable weight loss.
Their medical services include holistic health consultation, digital meridian diagnostic system, life force nourishment, colon hydrotherapy, infusion therapy and body salt bath.
The spa, aptly called Salus per Aquam, believes and adheres to the true meaning of ‘healing through water’. All treatments are developed to heal the body by removing toxins, providing nourishment through the skin, restoring energy balance, and decreasing the acidity in the body. The spa has a peaceful and soothing atmosphere designed to aid guests in healing, relaxing and temporarily forgetting the world around them. Two Thai massage pavilions overlook the swimming pool. A unique ‘Massage Under the Stars’ is available in the evenings for the perfect romantic nightcap. They use only 100 per cent natural products. The Farm itself produces a number of ingredients used in the treatments, like fresh coconut milk, virgin coconut oil, coconut fiber, coffee and cocoa. The Filipino therapists are welcoming and gentle which is characteristic of the Philippines population.
Go for the Hilot Massage, Reflexology, Thai Massage or Therapeutic Massage to regain your mind-body-soul balance. Indulge in incredible scrubs, like, Bittersweet – Coffee Scrub, Oriental Journey – Honey Scrub, Purification – Salt Scrub, Tropical Bliss – Coconut Scrub, and Ying and Yang - Dry Brushing, to cleanse your skin and make it glow. Body Wraps again help in deep cleansing and healing your body tissues. Go for Rose Petal, Earth Body and Chlorophyll wraps.
There are a lot of things which you can do at The Farm. Bring back peace of mind with Sunrise Meditation and Morning and Afternoon Yoga. Exercise and have fun too with Trampoline Dance, Callanethics and Pilates, Power Walking, and The Farm Fun Run. Bring your nurturing side to the forefront with North Park Plantation Gardening, Mandala Flower Arranging, Oil of Life Tour and The “Art of Climbing” a Coconut Tree.
Beauty inside out
It’s not just outer beauty which The Farm enhances. Whip up your body in shape and heal it internally at the Alive restaurant. Diners can sample delicious, nutritious vegan fare in a relaxed setting, either indoors or outside under tree canopies. Vegan may sound drab and blunt, but The Farm prepares it in a way which makes it healthy as well as sumptuous. The cuisine follows an ‘85 per cent raw, 15 per cent cooked’ philosophy, featuring freshly harvested ingredients from The Farm’s organic garden and sprouts and wheat grass from the Kitchen Garden and Wheat Grass Bungalow. The Alive five-course menu changes daily and includes a range of vegetables, nuts, seeds, and fruits, along with tasty homemade ice creams and cookies, biological wines, champagne and beverages. You can also take Alive Culinary Prep Class so that you can re-create those dainty dishes at home too.
The word ‘holistic’ has often been used without actually meaning it. But for The Farm, it is the only word that could encompass the amount of goodness it could give you.
