The Balvenie launches The Whisky Academy

April 2011: The award-winning brand, The Balvenie, has launched ‘The Whisky Academy’ – a series of short films covering every aspect of whisky from its history, production and terminology through to nosing, tasting and investing.

Hosted by The Balvenie Distillery Ambassador, David Mair, The Whisky Academy has been created to provide an introduction to the world of single malt Scotch whisky for newcomers, as well as a greater depth of understanding for those already familiar with whisky. In addition to providing a history of whisky, how it is produced and the crafts and chemistry involved, The Whisky Academy answers some of the most commonly asked questions about single malts, as well as providing insights into some lesser-known areas.

The 34 short films divided into four ‘modules’ and spanning three and a half hours of footage, will be exclusively available for viewing from the members’ section of The Balvenie’s website. Visit www.thebalvenie.com to register and view the entire series.
