Tag Heuer ties-up with Formula One in India, launches watch
May 6, 2011: Taking advantage of an opportune occasion, watch brand Tag Heuer recently announced its tie up with the Buddh International Circuit, the venue of the first Formula One race in India. Tag Heuer has gained exclusive rights in the watch category for the branding, logo and image rights of the race track. What will they do with the branding? To commemorate the tie up, Tag Heuer has announced the launch of 200 pieces “India limited edition” watch. This watch has been adorned with the logo of the racing circuit and the circuit map on the dial at 9 ’o clock. The chronograph hand along with the thread stitching on the leather strap is in India saffron colors.
The 200 piece limited edition will be available for sale in September end of 2011. Tag Heuer will soon initiate a booking procedure for the limited edition watches.
Present on the occasion, to make the announcement, was brand ambassador and Indian actor Shahrukh Khan, who was at his usual witty best. While he was fielding and diplomatically answering questions by the media, one could clearly see the two Tag watches on his wrists! An avid fan of Tag since childhood, as he says, he also admits to having numerous watches in his special cupboard for the purpose.
