St Tropez gets ready to celebrate 2012 as the year of India

November 23, 2010: A special Indian year would be organized at St Tropez in 2012 as per discussions between St Tropez’s town council and an Indian delegation of ASSOCHAM. Henri Prevost-Allard, Deputy Mayor, Saint-Tropez and Claude Maniscalco, Director, Saint-Tropez Tourisme were recently in India to introduce this special year and propose local partners to collaborate on the project.

India and Saint-Tropez share a unique history. The famous General Allard in Napoleon’s army was born in St Tropez in 1700s. He had married the daughter of Raja of Chamba, Bannu Pan Dei. Theirs is a tale of love crossing the boundaries of India and St Tropez.

The Indian year at St Tropez will contribute in promoting India. Among other events, the town council is also working on organizing an annual Indian Film Festival in St Tropez just before the Cannes Film Festival.
