Inspired by a Japanese game of 1970s, the collection blends motifs from the game with the brand’s signature aesthetic
June 25, 2021: As heritage brands find new design connotations in the current world, Italian classic brand Serapian takes inspiration from Space Invaders – a video game launched by the Japanese company Taito Corporation in the 1970s – for its latest capsule collection.
The limited edition “Serapian x Space Invaders” collection of leather accessories will be available in November.
The SS 2022 collection is all about new mobility, a necessary reinvention of life in big cities: bags, backpacks, pouches, and clutches all talk about the chicness of formal events, which blends with a more positive outlook to establish a realistic way of life, without constraints among business and leisure attire.
For the first time in its history, Serapian integrates top-quality Japanese selvedge denim into the collection, expertly profiled with Cachemire leather with black metal elements and Japanese cotton fabric for the interior, patterned with a geometrical pattern. This also relates to one of the bag's two configurations, a Two-in-One Tote bag featuring two shoulder belts that can be linked on the back to transform it into a backpack.
The Casual Business bag redefines work aesthetics by displaying a less structured approach to style. Stepan clutch, a quick easy-chic passepartout, is the third new silhouette.
New deep shades complement the popular Evoluzione leather intarsio, which is a symphony of blue tones ranging from navy to denim and lapis lazuli. The renowned Mosaico hand-crafted nappa, with a captivating game of greens, and the Cachemire line, where the cream canvas is embellished by ruby or coffee leather, both feature strong colors.
