Rosenthal launches the Blockglas collection of vases
2010: Rosenthal, the luxury décor brand, has launched the Blockglas Collection, which is includes a line of stunning black vases and candlesticks.
The ultra-modern vases are brought into shape using a complex sanding and engraving process. The silk-matt, soft, organic inner shapes are coveted by crystal clear, hard, geometric shapes. This interplay between contrasting forms lends the vases their convincing appearance, turning them into small design objects
When producing Blockglas, each individual piece is cut out of a massive block of solid glass, which gives the product its name. By juxtaposing individual pieces, a new structure is created. Each article is unique in appearance.
The collection is available at exclusive Rosenthal Boutiques in Mumbai, Bangalore and New Delhi.
