In an age when deep pockets are looking for larger-than-life experiences to indulge in, Remy Martin dared to bring a short and extremely stimulating experience in the form of a small shot. It will keep you gasping for more certainly…
If innovativeness had a measuring scale, then the RÉMY iceBOXX would surely receive 10 shots from avid party goers!
Cognac, in my eyes at least, was always a ‘Granddad’s drink’. Say ‘Cognac’ and you immediately get an image of a few, white-haired elegantly dressed gentlemen sitting in a plush library, enjoying a round of good financial conversation, and sipping some smooth cognac from their snifters. Quite a Victorian image, huh?
Fast-forward to, say, 20 years. Today Cognac has assumed a livelier get-up, courtesy Rémy Martin. As opposite as Jake Sully and his avatar in James Cameron’s eponymous movie, Remy Martin has renamed this new version as the RÉMY iceBOXX.
Being a brand serving exquisite cognac since 1724, it is quite stunning to see the young version of Rémy Martin. This world-renowned brand uses rare grapes from the most sought after vineyards located at the heart of the Cognac terroir: Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne and allows longer ageing in small oak casks as per three centuries of Cellar Masters’ heritage.
Rémy Martin is certainly the first in the industry to revolutionize the way we enjoy and consume cognac today. Served in a shot glass at -18ºC, Rémy Martin has created a new drinking ritual, which is highly appealing and much more tempting to the new, quick e-generation that we are now.
I had my first encounter with this ‘Wonder Box’ at a hip and glamourous party. And the larger part of the crowd was milling around this box as pretty girls belted out these little, thrilling shots at a fast pace. And when the box stopped to get ready for the next round, the drooping crowd would melt away and be back in exactly 15 minutes as the girl-bartenders told them to. I could almost feel the excitement the guests had to try and re-try this new drink. They were as intrigued as I was. I too was waiting patiently for my chance to have a go at this new ‘experience’ - and neither did it disappoint me!
The flashy-looking red box allows bartenders to serve Rémy Martin VSOP Cognac at -18oC, amplifying the smoothness of Rémy Martin’s unique fine champagne cognac. Have it simply chilled and you’ll sense an aromatic explosion of vanilla, peach and orange taste. You can also try a frozen shot of the vibrant gold coloured Rémy Martin VSOP combined with either apple or cranberry juice.
Looking for a fresh wave of vigour? Simply demand a shot of Rémy Martin VSOP Cognac mixed with an energy drink. You are all set to party throughout the night!
As for availability, the RÉMY iceBOXX can be found in select bars and clubs across the globe – some of the coolest places we assure you. In India, see them perched in the major Indian cities of New Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Vishakapatnam, Kolkata and Goa. Enter the Kamasutra-inspired Kitty Su at The Lalit New Delhi and there is this creative red box at the bar. The newly renovated Agni at The Park New Delhi also has a RÉMY iceBOXX to call its own along with the happening Hard Rock Café in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Bangalore.
Try the RÉMY iceBOXX and you’ll be hooked on it for sure. Finally, innovativeness comes in small packages too now!
