Rare and vintage Glenfiddich 1961 released in India

December 2010: The world’s most awarded single malt Scotch whisky, Glenfiddich, released a specially selected Glenfiddich Vintage from 1961, which will be available exclusively in Asia. The rare single malt, which has been bottled from a single cask, was unveiled by Glenfiddich Global Brand Ambassador, Ian Millar during his visit to New Delhi at Hyatt Regency Delhi.

The whisky has spent almost half a century gently ageing under the watchful eyes of the industry’s longest-serving Malt Master, David Stewart, a team of talented craftsmen and, more recently, Brian Kinsman.

The Glenfiddich 1961 Vintage has a vibrant aroma, with zesty, fruity notes and a distinctive ripe pear character. It has a tangy citrus taste intertwined with hints of lavender. There is an initial sweetness, reminiscent of orange marmalade that develops into an elegant and smooth taste with a perfect balance of oak. With these intriguingly complex flavours, and a mellow, sweet and memorable finish, this rare Glenfiddich has all the unique qualities of an exemplary vintage.
