Omega Olympics 2016

June 10, 2016: Official timekeepers since 1932 of the Olympic games, Omega is celebrating the upcoming 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro with the release of a new watch, the Seamaster Diver 300M “Rio 2016”.

The watch, available for a limited time, is listed at $268,100 and encompasses some of the most well-known features included in previous Omega models, while incorporating new elements that reflect the traditions and culture of Rio along with those of the Olympic Games.

The lacquered black dial of the watch includes a mosaic like pattern, which is inspired by the Copacabana waves and the mosaic patterns found on the sidewalks of Rio. The lacquered numbers are colored red, green, yellow and blue to represent the Olympic rings. Each watch is uniquely embossed with “Rio 2016” along with the individual limited time number on the back of the watch’s stainless blue case.

Traditional Omega features found on the Seamaster 300M include a helium escape valve at 10 o’clock and polished facetted skeleton rhodium-plated hands coated in white Super-LumiNova.
