Miele introduces gas on glass cooking with a safe and stylish Gas on Glass Hob
February 22, 2013: Miele has always defined cooking with style. And their newest product promises that as well! Miele’s new generation of Gas on Ceramic Glass Hob has an attractive design, easy-to-clean pot rests and a formidable collection of safety features.
A special feature of the new hob unit is that the gas burners and the pot rests sit on a ceramic glass surround. This 'gas-on-glass' principle is both aesthetically pleasing and offers eminently practical benefits. After cooking, the individual, enamelled cast-iron rests are simple to remove, ensuring ease of access to the ceramic surface below for cleaning. The pot rests are dishwasher-proof, therefore, spillages, greasy splashes and caked-on food residue no longer needs to be cleaned by hand.
Miele uses high-end rotary knobs made from solid metal. GasStop&ReStart and QuickStart are further key safety and convenience features. In the GasStop&ReStart function, a flame put out by a draught or a food spillage is immediately detected by the electronic controls, which automatically initiate attempts to reignite the flame. If these attempts prove unsuccessful, the gas supply is shut off. In Quickstart, the metal knobs no longer need to be pressed and held. Simply turning and releasing the knob automatically ignites the burner. The new model also sports a minute minder and 'hot-to-the-touch' heat indicators. A red LED indicator above the knob indicates that a burner is switched on. Once switched off, the same LED indicates the presence of residual heat. This model also features a convenient switch-off device. Should the door or telephone ring when several burners are in operation, all rings can be turned off at the touch of a single button.
The Hob Unit is priced at INR 1,54,990 and is available at Miele Authorised Dealers across India.
