The new collection, showcased digitally, was presented via three unique videos
October 21, 2020: Michael Kors recently launched its Spring Summer 2021 collection on the brand’s site and social media channels, through a unique digital experience accessible coupled with digital lookbook and biographies on the talent featured in the videos.
When asked about his inspiration for the collection, Mr. Kors said, “I designed this season with more thought and more intent than anything I've ever done. We were all forced to slow down this year, and I think we all started to appreciate things in a new way—suddenly, a flower blooming, a beautiful sunset, a walk along the river, these were things that brought us hope. I wanted to look at nature and rebirth through an urban lens.”
The first video features a documentary style film titled ‘Up on The Roof’ that allows it’s audience to connect with mood and inspirations of the season; directed by newcomer Haley Elizabeth Anderson. The second video features a traditional runway show which was filmed in a New York Restoration Project Community Garden, featuring a live performance by Samantha Diaz. And the third video focuses on Ms. Diaz’s moving performance of “You’ve Got a Friend”, written by Carole King.
The collection itself is modern, relaxed with a boho chic aura. Straight trenches, belted summery shirt dresses, luscious silks, cozy knitwears and shimmering eveningwear defined Michael Kors’ Spring Summer 2021 collection.
Mr. Kors also made a donation to the New York Restoration Project and the Renaissance Youth Center, which will support the organization’s “Music on Wheels” initiatives.
