June 29, 2012: Celebrating India’ spirit and enthusiasm for festivals, Lladro has launched creations that will certainly touch your heart.
In the Padmasana Ganesha, Lord Ganesha, the Hindu god of wisdom and knowledge, is depicted as a “padmasana” Ganesha or lotus pose, with legs crossed.
The Cherub on a Peacock, a limited edition of 1000 pieces, makes this bird a focal point as it is considered a symbol of vanity, pride and arrogance by certain cultures, while others have looked on it as a symbol of good luck, harmony, serenity and spiritual peace.
Divine Love, on the other hand, depicts the relationship of Radha and Krishna. Radha's passion for Krishna symbolizes the soul's intense longing and willingness for the ultimate unification with God.
Mahatma Gandhi is a symbol of India. And who can contest that fact? His presence was imperative in this collection certainly. This political leader is traditionally depicted walking forward, as a symbol of progress, evolution, movement, dynamic attitude, as well as allusion to the 1930 Salt March.
