‘EAST - The Asian Living Room' is the latest addition to JW Marriott Prestige Golfshire Resort & Spa, which brings authentic Korean and East Asian flavours to Bengaluru.
October 13, 2022: JW Marriott Bengaluru Prestige Golfshire Resort & Spa announced the launch of its restaurant, ‘EAST – The Asian Living Room’ where guests can savour Cantonese, Japanese, and Korean cuisines. Located amid Nandi Hills, EAST boasts a picturesque backdrop of an artificial lake and the beautiful greens of the golf course.
Designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates Singapore, EAST showcases a warm ambience, marbled table tops with muted upholstery giving a sense of a homely setting amidst manicured gardens on both sides, an alfresco deck overlooking the lake and an interactive bar offering magical concoctions. The restaurant also offers two private dining spaces with floor-to-ceiling windows which let in natural light, creating a cosy ambience, conversational groups of sofas, an eight-seater round marbled dining table and an open terrace overlooking the beautiful lake and the stunning greens of the golf course.
EAST’s highlight lies in its style of service - an Asian family-style dining experience that showcases the culture of the Asian household, where guests can come together to experience a meal, just like they would in a traditional living room of an Asian family. The service also offers traditional Asian household customs such as the Cherry Blossom and Matcha Tea ritual, similar to how they are practised when guests arrive at their homes. These customs signify unity and harmony amidst communities and the role of food in binding diverse Asian cultures by being the most vital pillar.
The Asian MasterChef of East, Chef Saiful, ensures that the guests’ preferences and moods are considered while curating a scrumptious meal and a memorable dining experience. He recommends trying out signature creations like Squid Ojingeo Bokkeum, Soft Shell Crab, Flying Ramen, Wild Mushroom Bao, Tofu Pad Cha and Miso Alaskan Black Cod. EAST is confident about its variety of Korean grill meats made with specially designed Korean grills.
The restaurant’s in-house Fermentation Lab takes guests on a ‘Sake Rice’ journey and tasting. The bar also houses a variety of innovatively crafted beverages like Japanese malts, Sochu and Sake, along with visually enchanting, innovative cocktails such as the Passion Pearl and Melting Pot that is in harmony with the Whiskey Wall of the restaurant.
