Gucci presents its unified show with Men's and Women's Spring 2018 collection
October 5, 2017: Gucci’s recently showcased Spring Summer 2018 collection was full of glam, rock and Disney.
The set design, conceived by Creative Director Alessandro Michele, had various elements. An ancient map acted as the guideline for the shows’ foundations: the layout, the captions and the order of the locations depicted in writings on the floor. The set up featured 37 structures, including various statues and pillars from different historical times. The space included three arches – Indian, Egyptian and Aztec, through which the models walked in the show – juxtaposed with familiar urban elements, such as the streetlights, positioned over the roads.
The collection took reference from a variety of directions – from Elton John to the Chatsworth House. From Disney characters to the 1980s era. Colours are bold and glitz is mandatory with Mr Michele. Trends from previous seasons, such as oversize silhouettes and fringes, make a comeback.
