Spas, though not ineffective, can only help to elevate your well-being to a minimal level. If you wish to truly heighten up your senses, the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is your destination then.
Being in Switzerland, it is not too difficult for the property to provide stunning natural views to tired, city-fed eyes. The Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is specifically situated in the Heidiland holiday region of eastern Switzerland, which is about an hour’s drive from Zurich.
The Grand Bad Ragaz is universally known as a leading wellbeing and medical health resort in Europe. The massive property includes two five-star establishments (the Grand Hotel Quellenhof & Spa Suites and the Grand Hotel Hof Ragaz), eight restaurants, six bars, the To B. Wellbeing & Spa, two golf courses, the Business & Event Center Kursaal and an in-house casino. Its wellbeing offerings also include a Medical Health Center and the Swiss Olympic Medical Center where renowned sportsmen and women come for treatment.
The To B. Wellbeing & Spa
A member of the ‘Leading Spas of the World’, the To B. Wellbeing & Spa facility offers quite a lot of health-inducing treatments. Taking the best of all worlds, their opulent Helenabad pool offers guests to swim in Ragaz thermal spa water whose healing properties are confirmed by Paracelsus (a German-Swiss Renaissance physician, botanist, alchemist, astrologer and general occultist from the 16th century). A sports pool and the garden pool, open from May to September, complete the water areas. The spacious sauna landscape includes a Finnish sauna, steam bath and sanarium as well as an ice grotto, sensory area and winter-garden lounge. The highlight here is a herbal steam bath, embellished with Swarovski crystals, which is the first of its kind in the world. Talk about dipping in gems!
The To B. Wellbeing & Spa’s five Balancing and Harmonising Suites made in Asian-Hawaiian style, and other luxury massage rooms, are where guests can take benefit from a wealth of deeply effective treatments. One of them is the Sequoia massage which begins with a meditative breathing exercise and continues with a Kneipp alternating foot bath and a foot reflex zone massage, culminating in a whole body herbal compress ball massage in combination with warm oil. The Choco Therapy, on the other hand, helps to relieve signs of ageing by using cacao and cinnamon, cloves and black cayenne pepper in the treatment mix.
Couples can combine love with health through the ‘Andeer Private Spa’. A whirlpool, sauna with champagne cooler and steam bath, a relaxation lounge and an integral treatment and dining area with garden terrace leave nothing else to wish for!
For those used to a daily regime of exercise can raise up their levels a notch higher with state-of-the-art equipment, Pilates studio, daily fitness and relaxation lessons such as the aerobic dance form Zumba. On request, individual coaching or training sessions with a personal trainer or private lifestyle coach can also be arranged.
To B. Beauty & Care
The specialists at the To B. Beauty & Care beauty salon in the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz have devised treatments to pamper the skin of each guest, whether they are male or female. Men receive a special helping hand through the ‘Niance Men Switzerland’ brand used in the To B. Beauty & Care salon. Other spa products brands used are La Prairie, Kanebo, Sisley, Carita, Bulgari and Ericson. The Caviar Firming Treatment from La Prairie is already regarded as a classic as is the Stress Relief Facial Treatment from Kanebo. For a long-lasting effect, Carita products are used with an electrophysical Pro-Lifting device. Dr. Claudia Steiner strengthens the team of medical experts.
A separate Dermatology department at the resort diagnoses and treats skin diseases, improves the skin appearance through the removal of age spots and pigmentation marks, and utilises laser therapies and anti-aging fruit acid peelings. The medical portfolio also includes treatments with Botox and skin rejuvenating substances.
The ‘Beauty Days’ programme, personally tailored to each guest, features treatments for the face, neck and décolleté as well as whole body peelings and care packs, sea salt baths, make-up and pedicure depending on skin condition and individual wishes. If there, do try the glittering ‘Gold Temptation’ treatment which begins with a gold bath consisting of 23-carat gold leaf, grapeseed oil, sesame oil, wheat germ oil, olive oil and argan oil. This is followed by a gold massage, during which wafer-thin 24-carat gold leaf is gently massaged into the skin of the back, stomach and legs. This splendid treatment is rounded off in perfect style with a chocolate cake embellished with gold.
With perfect health at the core of Grand Resort Bad Ragaz, who would want to say no to a pinch of beauty, a dash of love, and a spoonful of wellbeing?
