Golfers Stacy Lewis and Rory McIlroy join Omega as brand ambassadors
April 9, 2013: Watch manufacturer Omega has announced that golf players Stacy Lewis and Rory McIlroy have joined the brand’s impressive roster of ambassadors.
Omega’s new relationships with both the golfers furthers the brand’s growing golf portfolio and highlights the Swiss watchmaker’s continued investment in the sport of golf. The 28-year-old Lewis, who was born in Toledo, Ohio and grew up near Houston, Texas, was diagnosed with scoliosis at a young age and underwent a spinal fusion operation just before college and plays golf with a titanium rod and five screws in her back.
The signing of McIlroy is a substantial story for Omega. The popular golfer, described by Omega President Stephen Urquhart as "the most exciting player in the game", was the top-ranked golfer earlier in the year and remains number two in the world golf rankings.
