The new collection carries timeless details inspired by the ready-to-wear brand’s archival hero designs

October 7, 2020: Genes Lecoanet Hemant has come up with a special edition collection of reinvented classics, inspired by its inimitable designs and global brand identity, called ‘Love in Black & White’.

Handcrafted, the upcycled collection encapsulates styles that are inspired from the personal storyboard of Creative Director, Didier Lecoanet. The collection has been presented entirely in black and white and crafted consciously with love and purposeful design at its heart.

Crafted skillfully in signature white staples from the GENES archive, spontaneous textile manipulations like inlays and patchwork with diverse construction techniques offer interesting designs that amp up your comfort wardrobe. A shirt has been playfully combined with a t-shirt, a piece of t-shirt sleeve cut into the shape of a heart has been inlaid on a shirt, and hand made musings that embrace the wearer's personal style.

Commenting on the collection, Hemant Sagar of Genes Lecoanet Hemant, “The biggest luxury is time, and the pieces from this collection carry the essence of time with them. The essence of a lived life - of a prior purpose. Each garment from Love in Black and White addresses the true meaning of timelessness; that of appreciating the character that every cut, fold and detail holds. Our hope for the collection is that it is able to present the wearer with a language of expression that transcends fashion and embraces personal style."
