October 31, 2019: Banjara Hills, one of the most elite neighbourhoods of Hyderabad, is adding to the glory to ace couturier Gaurav Gupta’s new couture store. Launching his first store in Hyderabad, the Gaurav Gupta franchise store will be an experiential retail space unraveling the couturier's dreamscape, with an added focus on bridal couture, occasion wear and bespoke customization.

Marking 15 years of merging indigenous Indian construction and embellishing techniques with his idea of the future, Gaurav Gupta has continuously delivered a world that is Indian at its core and boundless in its form. An avant-garde hybrid of the sari and gown, his sari-gown has been spotted everywhere from the red carpet to wedding cocktails, and quickly gained ground as a wedding wardrobe must-have. Today, he has expanded his repertoire to include jewellery, led sustainability in his creations, and launched more stores in the country.

Architecturally, as an ode to the city of Nizams, the romance of the regal old and new have been brought together in a harmonious contrast. The store is outlined with curvilinear walls, beveled mirror edges are interspersed in the space to create a feeling of infinity.

Commenting on the Hyderabad opening, Gaurav Gupta said, "I have always been enamored by the regal opulence and history of Hyderabad along with the elegance with which people dress here even today. I am delighted to be here in this exciting market to showcase our avant-garde couture, to the modern functionality of our bridal wear and occasion wear. We promote the idea that you can use your wedding outfits multiple times."

This location will be the brand's fifth store as an addition to the four Gaurav Gupta stores currently operating at Kalka Das Marg, Mehrauli and DLF Emporio in New Delhi, Kala Ghoda in Mumbai and the recently launched Galleria 1190 in Kolkata.
