Luxury hotel chain Fairmont Hotels & Resorts partnered with Shekhar Resorts Limited to introduce a new property to their growing Indian portfolio.
April 24, 2023: Fairmont, part of Accor Group, announced its first property in Agra, the land ornamented with beautiful historic forts. Surrounded by the picturesque beauty of the city, the property is ensconced in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, and just a two-hour drive from the bustling capital city of New Delhi.
Located at an easy access to the Taj Mahal, the new property will offer 205 rooms, including 44 suites and high-end amenities. Offering the guests a lavish escape, the property will feature a signature restaurant, coffee shop, bar, swimming pool, fitness center and spa. With its prime location and top-notch amenities, the Fairmont property aims to become an ideal destination for a memorable experience in Agra.
Fairmont Hotels, a global chain of luxury hotels, boasts a group of luxurious properties located in the heart of mesmerizing destinations, from The Plaza in New York City to Fairmont Royal Palm in Marrakech. In India, Fairmont already has a presence with Fairmont Jaipur, and will expand its presence with hotels in Udaipur, Mumbai and Shimla Fagu over the next two years.
Owing to the presence of Taj Mahal – a UNESCO World Heritage site – building a new hotel or resort in Agra is a complex proposition. However, in partnership with Shekhar Resorts Limited, Fairmont Agra is set to open by 2025.
