Dior launches timepiece collection Dior VIII

October 14, 2011: Dior watches launched its new timepiece collection ‘Dior VIII’ over cocktails at The Four Season, Mumbai. Dior VIII is inspired by classic couture from the House of Dior and pays tribute to Christian Dior. Marking the fourth horology family at Dior, the collection aims to become one of Dior’s basics like the Bar Suit created in 1947, the Lady Dior bag created in 1995 and the fragrance J’adore Dior created in 1999. Dior VIII is named after Monsieur Dior’s first collection 'en huit'. The collection’s name consists of eight characters, which is Christian Dior’s lucky number and also the date on which the House of Dior was created in October 1946.

This new collection is adorned with diamonds and precious stones, comprises 18 pieces and is divided into three categories namely Dior VIII Core Range, Dior VIII Colored Baguettes and Dior VIII Grand Bal. The Dior VIII Grand Bal features the Calibre ‘Dior Inverse’ which constitutes of a white gold functional inverted oscillating weight with diamonds on the dial.
