Dior launches the new Dior VIII Pink Sapphire-Set circle dial

Dior VIII Pink Sapphire-Set Circle DialApril 24, 2013: Dior timepieces pay tribute to couturiers with the creation of the Dior VIII wristwatch. It evokes the haute couture heritage of the House of Dior, based on timeless elegance.

The name ‘Dior VIII’ has 8 characters, not one more, not one less, as if to highlight Monsieur Dior’s lucky number. The number 8 recalls the date of the creation of his couture house, on the 8th of October 1946, the name of his collection baptized En Huit (In Eight) or even the VIIIth arrondissement of Paris where Dior’s Haute Couture Ateliers are located. Timeless in design, Dior VIII firmly establishes itself as the reflection of an Haute Couture wardrobe where, hour after hour and season after season, the tributes to Christian Dior’s work meet and intermingle together.

The white ceramic 38mm automatic model is adorned with a new pink sapphire-set dial. This model is equipped with an automatic movement, embellished with an oscillating weight lacquered in pink, the colour, according to Christian Dior, of “happiness” and “femininity” and matching the shade of the stones on the dial.

The watch has a 38-hour power reserve, water resistance up to 50 metres and is composed of 34 pink sapphires.
