Dior launches a new watch in the Dior Grand Soir collection
June 5, 2014: Adding another beautiful watch to its Grand Soir collection, Dior this time takes inspiration from the “petticoat”. The tousled asymmetrical shape and corolla wavy movement of the bezel recall the swirl of an evening gown.
The mother-of-pearl dial involves delicate inlay and engraving work while the patterns on the dial are inspired by embroideries on haute couture dresses. The dial is hand painted by a miniature artist and takes 20 hours of work. The baguette cut sapphire stones used are all natural and untreated. It takes approximately four months to find the several colours of sapphires that fit perfectly.
This collection, a vibrant tribute to the talents of Christian Dior as a colourist, is tinted with the most feminine of colours. Combining excellence of materials and the craftsmanship to create garment details on the mother of pearl dial, this exceptional timepiece is engineered with an ETA Quartz movement enclosed in a pink gold case. The strap back reveals a hand-sewn label of “Christian Dior Paris”.
