Indian designer Raghavendra Rathore launches store in Kolkata
February 11, 2013: Indian designer, Raghavendra Rathore, best known for his trademark Jodhpuri Bandgala suits and breeches, has launched a store in Kolkata at Camac Street.
“People want to give gifts which are custom designed for their loved ones, rather than buying generic products from the market, that everybody has access to. We at our store will offer customization at its finest, clients can commission jeweled buttons as per their personal style, get special prints designed for the pocket scarves or design a piece of jewellery that can never be found anywhere else in the world. We hope to provide design solutions for diverse range of products through our store, from concepts for silver beds to men's bespoke wardrobe solutions. Under the same label, we will also have a select line of couture women’s wear, at the store in a few months,” says Mr Rathore.
Mr Rathore combines old-fashioned workmanship with modern aplomb. His creations are inspired by the royal heritage of India. He is also credited for shifting the focus of the fashion industry from women’s wear to menswear and giving it more space.
“Our clients from Kolkata understand the subtle understated style of our label, making it an ideal fit to provide them with bespoke menswear service,” said Mr Rathore.
