Designer Manish Malhotra presents couture collection Zween

The entire collection floored the audience with 3-D embellishments, vibrant tassels and feathers, swirls of sequins and Swarovski crystals, along with intricate floral threadwork embroidery completely in sync with Mr. Malhotra’s signature style of ensembles in silk, organza, velvet and net fabrics. The color palette saw exquisite shades of rusty orange, sandy gold, olive green, ivory, lavender and tropical blue.

The lehengas were a beautiful combination of ruffled blouses or contemporary corset bustier. The men wore structured silhouettes with the Western jackets exhibiting an oriental style, made in dreamy shades of ivory, black and teal.

This year marks the 13th year of Mr. Malhotra’s’s label and he claims that Zween highlights the beauty and splendor of the Middle East. The show stoppers of this collection were Indian actors Salman Khan (in a printed black sherwani) and a very stunning Katrina Kaif (in an olive green embroidered lehenga). As is always true with Mr. Malhotra’s shows, this show was also attended by many Bollywood celebrities like Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Shabana Azmi, Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan to name a few.
