Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse Chicago invites Van Duzer Vineyards for exclusive wine dinner
May 9, 2018: Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse in Chicago is welcoming winemaker Florent Merlier of Van Duzer Vineyards for an exclusive dinner showcasing his expertise and the wines of Van Duzer on May 16, 2018.
To be held at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse in Chicago’s Gold Coast, guests can indulge in exquisite wines as they are expertly paired and described by Mr Merlier throughout a four-course meal prepared by Executive Chef Javier Fuentes.
Dishes and pairings for this distinctive dinner include Lobster Avocado Toast with poached lobster, lime-infused vanilla bean oil, and challah bread (paired with Van Duzer “Norris-McKinley Vineyard” Riesling, Ribbon Ridge 2016); Wild Boar Chop with purple potato hash, local Honey Paris mustard glaze, and grilled knob onion (Van Duzer Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley 2015); 45 Day Dry-Aged Strip with bone marrow, smashed Yukon Gold, and oven-dried heirloom tomato (Van Duzer “Kalita Vineyard” Pinot Noir, Yamhill-Carlton 2014); and Lemon Panna Cotta with charred Fresno pepper, blueberry sauce, and Iowa Cheddar crumbles (Van Duzer “Dephyra” Semi-Sweet White Wine, Oregon).
Before the meal, guests are welcomed to a Rosé Reception featuring the Van Duzer Rosé of Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley 2016 with hors d’oeuvres at 6:30 p.m. Whetting the appetite will be Spinach and Green Pea Empanadas with a goat cheese mint drizzle and Smoked Salmon Deviled Eggs with American caviar and chive.
