May 5, 2023: Christie's Hong Kong is hosting a spectacular catalog of 210 exquisite handbags and accessories for its next auction in May 2023. The lineup features rare and exclusive collectibles from legendary fashion houses such as Hermes and Louis Vuitton.

A key offering in the sale will be the iconic Hermès Himalaya Niloticus Crocodile handbags. The name of these bags comes from their gleaming white appearance, which evoke the snow-covered Himalayan peak. Due to their scarcity and exquisite craftsmanship, these bags are rightfully regarded as the holy grail of handbags and are highly coveted by collectors. A limited edition Mushroom and Biscuit Chevre Leather Verso Mini Constance 18 with gold hardware by Hermes is sure to catch every collector’s eye.
Two highly sought-after Faubourg Sellier Birkin 20 bags by Hermès, which mimic the façade of the brand’s flagship boutique at 24 rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré in Paris using a luxurious mix of fine leathers, are also available for sale. An edition of this handbag was sold at the last Christie’s Hong Kong Handbags & Accessories sale in November 2022 - for US$ 324,114.
The Hermès Kelly Doll handbags are another exceptional collectible to look out for. This classic Kelly design bag is combined with a fun, doll-like twist with movable limbs and a beaming face. The auction will feature two of these iconic bags.
Another standout is the limited-edition classic Louis Vuitton monogram canvas jewelry box by artist Takashi Murakami which is estimated to fetch $40,000 - 60,000. Mr. Murakami’s distinctive take on Louis Vuitton’s monogram is one of a kind and unquestionably among the greatest of the lineup. The assortment will also feature Louis Vuitton trunk alongside a collaboration piece with Fragment Design, founded by Hiroshi Fujiwara, a famed Japanese streetwear designer.
