Christian Louboutin and The Walt Disney Studios unveil a Cinderella inspired slipper

Christian Louboutin Cinderella inspired slipperJuly 5, 2012: Always been enchanted by the Cinderella fable and imagined yourself in the role of this beautiful, wronged heroine? Christian Louboutin brings you a notch closer to making your imagination a reality!

The fabled Cinderella slipper has come to life as The Walt Disney Studios and Mr Louboutin unveil the modern-day Cinderella inspired slipper in Paris, during Haute Couture Week, held from July 2-5, 2012.

It was the perfect opportunity for Mr Louboutin to combine the two worlds of fairytale and shoe fashion when he was invited by Disney to re-imagine Cinderella’s famous slipper in honor of Disney’s global release of the classic masterpiece “Cinderella” Diamond Edition on Blu-ray this Fall.

Lightness, beauty and transparency are the words with which Mr Louboutin describes this special pair. Delicate lace adorned with crystals gives these slippers an enchanting look. Two sparkling butterflies rest prettily on the shoes, one landing on the vamp while the other sits closely behind atop the crystal covered heel, gently brushing the ankle.

More than any other iconic shoe by the designer, the Cinderella pair is an intricate work of art – much like the complex, fantasy-kind life of Cinderella. “Her character and her story dictated the design to me, it was all there in the pages and the words of this tale,” explained Mr Louboutin.

As part of the celebration, a few lucky, modern day Cinderella’s will have the chance to be a part of the magic and win one of the twenty original slippers created for this collaboration. The organizers promise that further details about the contest and participating markets will follow soon.
