Chopard unveils a fabulous 85-carat diamond

January 2011: The prestigious watch and jewellery brand Chopard has unveiled a fabulous 85-carat emerald-cut diamond of extreme purity! This 85.28-carat stone has all the exceptional qualities to enter the hallowed circles of truly extraordinary gems. The extreme limpidity, whiteness and clarity of the stone place it in the IIA class, an extremely rare and pure category accounting for only one per cent of all diamonds.

Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, Co-President of the House and Creative Director, confides, “I love gems. I have seen a lot of them in my career, but the beauty of this particular one surpasses most others, and it is truly exceptional.” Gruosi-Scheufele constantly travels the globe in search of the finest stones. She then draws inspiration from her numerous journeys to express her experiences with the help of the designers in the Haute Joaillerie department. This fabulous diamond will surely enable her to express the full scope of her talent.

This gem will now be tamed by the jewellers’ expert fingers at Chopard’s workshop. We are waiting to see how it will be transformed into the most dazzling of creations!
