If diamonds sparkling on your eyes like a real live swan princess (and super model in one) makes you happy, then flutter your eyes slowly for that drama queen tag - picture perfectilicious and so seductive. Giving your eyes a high colour that is lightweight and shimmery (but in a sophisticated way), Chanel’s Stylo Eyeshadow range from their summer 2013 collection is definitely an A+.
As an almost perfect answer to India's monsoons, Chanel gives you an eyeshadow that is easy to apply through a twist up pen format, which gives a pronounced and fresh eye shadow effect. Available in six limited edition shades, it is impossible to not find at least one that will be your go-to this rainy season. Choose from Black Stream (black with silver), Moon River (platinum/taupe), Jade Shore (green with gold), Pink Lagoon (coral pink), Blue Bay (blue with silver) and lastly Cool Gold. Welcome the Stylo Eyeshadow with open arms - I know your eyes are.
Extremely cooling on application (I wonder how that is possible), your eyes will feel refreshed, and of course, look utterly glamourous. Going with the Pink Lagoon shade, the high metallic finish with a baby pink splash of colour completes my feminine quota for the day. Being a subtle pink colour, it matches with almost anything. Perfect for day wear, these pigmented stick shadows can be applied directly to the lids or indirectly with a brush, which leave you with a high-shine finish jam-packed with fine flecks of glitter. You can apply a light layer in the day for a mellow look or build them up for more drama at night. With about 10 minutes to dry and settle in, you have an opportunity to blend in a few colours to bring out your mood. I'd suggest a copper, like MAC's winter frost on the corners, or even Chanel’s Stylo Cool Gold below the eyebrows. It works well with a fine line of brown or black liquid liner and mascara.
Like with all eye shadows, be sure to prep your lids with a primer or moisturizer so the product doesn’t sit into the creases and lasts you for about seven hours. The plus side? The consistency is soft and silky and it feels smooth when applied. It even feels cool and refreshing actually. The easiest way to remove the product is with baby oil - one swab and you are done! Be prepared to shine bright like a diamond!
