From the days of the crisp-suited man, the new Canali man is more millennial and semi-formal
June 29, 2021: For the Spring-Summer 2022 collection, menswear brand Canali takes inspiration from 1990s Los Angeles. This season is encouraged by the changing light of dawn and sunset, the colors of the coast and hills, and the many atmospheres of the city's different neighborhoods.
The exclusive items express a relaxed elegance with delicate detailing and high-quality materials. Leather garments are a key element this season: the style is completed with a polished taupe single-breasted buckskin blazer, a green suede jacket decorated with handmade nappa leather stitching, a suede aviator jacket with patch pockets, and buckskin espadrilles with stitched rope uppers.
The silhouettes of the season are “dandy” fitted suits and jackets. Attention to detail and elements of high sartorial tradition define this new, distinct identity of the contemporary dandy. Anoraks, bomber jackets, and silk scarves, as well as a cotton boat-neck sweater with a distinctive structured stitch and real horn buttons, and wide leg pants with a drawstring waist, all illustrate this.
The trucker jackets are available in a wide range of colors and materials, including white denim, aqua, and tobacco suede. The traditional trucker jacket is also redesigned in white denim with tobacco suede patch pockets. The tailored pants with double pleats that complement the delicate lines of the jacket and the blue shirt with contrasting tobacco stitching are also in this shade. Proceeding on to knitwear, geometric designs are constructed with white, blue, and tobacco weaves on garments made with braid stitch. The suits are dominated by blue tones, which range from deep denim to turquoise.
The pieces in the Black Edition are influenced by street art, music, and sports. The ultimate result is a fusion of vibrant colors and powerful, textured designs. White drawings on a black background adorn the hooded jacket, while maxi prints adorn the short-sleeved shirts with bowler collars. Rubber elements can be found on technical fabric outerwear like the black anorak with vertical pockets and shoulder opening, as well as stretch cotton jerseys with tiny flat rib knitting.
