Bovet launches the new Virtuoso VIII 10-Day Flying Tourbillon Big Date

Bovet Virtuoso VIII 10-Day Tourbillon Big DateAugust 17, 2017: Reliability, chronometry and decorative arts are the keywords that are used to describe the Bovet Virtuoso III. In celebration of its 195th anniversary, Bovet is releasing 78 of the Virtuoso VIII, 39 in white gold upon request and 39 in red gold.

The energy of the caliber, which is set by a variable inertia balance wheel, is released by a single barrel that provides over ten days of autonomy. There are six collets driven into the felly of the balance wheel that allow great precision. This double faced timepiece is equipped with a balance-spring that was specifically calibrated for this watch and is fixed in the center with its axis together giving it even distribution on each side.

In addition to being full of top-notch technology, the watch is an artwork. Both sides of the plates have bridges that honor Bovet’s pocket watches with polished and chamfered steel. The two plates are chiseled with a delicate and intricate pattern that take skill from the manufacture’s engravers. The full skin alligator wristband pairs perfectly with the intricately carved face of the watch and the ivory, black lacquer, or blue aventurine dials and hands of the watch.
