Backes & Strauss Diamond Jubilee Collection launched at Rose

Backes & Strauss Diamond Jubilee Collection launched at Rose: The Watch Bar

August 29, 2012: Backes & Strauss, the oldest diamond company in the world, being formed in 1789, and also known as the ultimate diamond watch company, launched its limited edition Diamond ‘Jubilee’ collection, in association with the House of Rose. Limited to only 60 pieces worldwide, the exclusive timepiece was launched and showcased in India exclusively at Rose-The Watch Bar.

The limited edition was crafted the 60 year reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. For the first time in history, Backes & Strauss was granted permission by the Lord Chamberlain’s Office in Buckingham Palace to use the sacred Her Majesty’s Royal Cypher, in the design of this unique and historical watch collection.

The watch is set with two rows of diamonds surrounding the royal purple dial of hand lacquered English roses, overlaid with the Royal Cypher and diamond indexes and crowned with the Roman LX (signifying 60) in diamonds at 12 o'clock. A purple alligator skin strap complements the 18kt white gold case with an ardillon diamond set buckle. Through its open sapphire back, one can see the movement and the engraving “Queen’s Diamond Jubilee” with a year from HM's reign as the serial number (60 watches with serial numbers from 1952-2012).
