Self-taught Indian designer Anjul Bhandari celebrates her love for art, grace and elegance in her latest custom-created collection.
January 11, 2023: With her expertise in traditional embroideries such as Chikankari and Mukaish, Indian designer Anjul Bhandari uses graceful and classic aesthetic with her signature subtle pastel hues for this new collection. Her latest offering “Khush Rang” symbolizes the euphoria of new beginnings with pop colours and her signature craft.
Ms. Bhandari says, “As we entered into the new year, the idea was to offer something that brings joy and happiness which is synonymous with the emotions of new beginnings and celebrations. We developed some of these pieces about 20 years ago and they’re picked out from our fashion archives but still so fashion forward and yet timeless."
Ms. Bhandari embarks on a new venture with a diverse range of colours comprising gun metals, greys and lilacs along with pinks, peaches, yellow, green and ivory. Ms. Bhandari is taking her legacy of allowing colours to take center stage forward, where the collection follows a similar colour palette which merges into pastels. The designer also embodies more iridescence and adornments in this collection alongside pastels and pops.
Khush Rang features asymmetric cut outs, colourful beads and a modern silhouette which allows her craft to stand out. With the latest collection, Ms. Bhandari puts chiffon and georgette on the front burner with a hint of organza to give it a feminine touch instilling a sense of youthfulness to age-old artistry. Delicate embroidery gives it an authentic, light look.
The collection is available at Ensemble in Mumbai, New Delhi and Hyderabad, and Ogaan in New Delhi.
