After announcing the resignation of Stefano Pilati, the family-run, fine menswear company, Ermenegildo Zegna has quickly announced the appointment of fashion designer, Alessandro Sartori to its newly created position of artistic director.

Taking up on a new role, Mr Sartori is, nevertheless, a familiar face at Zegna. Starting in 2003, he spent eight years as designer of Z Zegna, the second line by the Italian men’s fashion powerhouse.

Rejoining Zegna in June 2016, Sartori will shoulder creative responsibility across all its brands and report directly to CEO Gildo Zegna. Zegna’s fall/winter 2017 collection will mark the first full season for Mr Sartori, who recently stepped down from his post of artistic director of Berluti, another luxury menswear brand he served for five years.
