Winters mean a hot cuppa tea. And if that can be coupled with some unique experiences, who’ll mind? We list some of our favourite afternoon teas!

Each country has its own culture, some of which we take in an exotic way, while adopting the others as a way of life. The English tradition of afternoon teas has also garnered much interest and experimentation!

Dainty little tea cups, chocolate filled scones, pink cupcakes, all arranged and prepared with a unique theme. Easy to feast your eyes on, these beautifully adorned afternoon teas will satisfy your souls too! We list some of our favourite ones, not just from the home ground of London, but also from luxurious properties elsewhere…

Detoxing with tea
Located in the heart of Mayfair, one of London's prime locations, Rocco Forte’s Brown's Hotel has a fascinating history and has hosted many distinguished guests since it opened as London’s first hotel in 1837. The hotel, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World (LHW), offers a low-calorie Tea Tox, a healthier version of the traditional afternoon tea.  This detox version includes healthy canapes instead of sandwiches, fruit skewers instead of scones and a selection of sugar free pastries. Their Prestige seasonal tea library presents a selection of teas from boutique tea gardens, which have been specially selected by tea traders, Lalani & Co. These teas are served from a specially commissioned ceramic teapot into a Riedel glass, rather than a tea cup!

Fashion chronicles

Known in the 1960s for attracting fashionable people, Le Bristol Paris has now resurrected that image by offering "Fashion Saturdays". The concept is simple and chic: fashion with tea on Saturday afternoons! Watch an array of models walk between the tables as you enjoy a delicious English tea, a glass of champagne, a selection of pastries and finger sandwiches. For each occasion, Pastry Chef Laurent Jeannin creates a unique dessert inspired by the designer’s style. Large fashion houses such as Céline, Yves Saint-Laurent, Givenchy, Chloé, Ralph Lauren, Stella McCartney and Ungaro have presented their collections at Le Bristol.
