3 Michelin star Georges Blanc comes to The Oberoi, Mumbai
January 7, 2019: If you are a food devotee who can’t resist those beautifully plated culinary feats, then make sure you put The Oberoi, Mumbai in your GPS next week. You might not get a chance to sample the master food made by chefs of a 3 Michelin star restaurant again…for a long time.
Georges Blanc, a revered dining institution from France, is offering a special menu at Vetro, The Oberoi Mumbai’s Italian restaurant. Executive Chefs Olivier Chardigny and Florent Maréchau will be whipping up some delicious recipes, carefully offering enough vegetarian options as well, to ensure that India can get a taste of authentic French cuisine mixed with pure genius.
And not just food, but its intricacies will also be discussed during their presence. The Culinary showcase & Conclave will entail Special Chef Georges Blanc Dégustation menus at Vetro, between January 17 to 20, 2019. The menu will be available as a Lunch Menu Du Jour which will feature a three course tasting menu at Rs. 3,000 and Dinner will showcase a Chef’s Gourmand menu with four courses at Rs. 5,000 per guest. A special Gala Dinner on the January 19, 2019 will present six exquisite courses at Rs. 7,500 and the ‘Best of Burgundy’ wine paired six course menu.
The Conclave will include masterclasses and cooking demonstrations with industry discussion points on sustainability, use of locally sourced ingredients, French cooking techniques, the richness of traditional French cuisine and to cook authentic, consistent and delicious food.
A selection of exquisite wines have also been flown in from France to pair with each course on offer, featuring the Henri Bourgeois Pouilly Fume, Château Malmaison Baron Nadine de Rothschild, Cru Bourgeois Superieur and Domaine George Lignier et fils Gevrey-Chambertin, amongst others.
Just to get you a bearing of what might be served on the table, the menu includes Artichaut frit au Cumin, condiment pourpre, mesclun (fried artichoke with cumin, beets sauce and salad mix); chaud-froid de St Jacques et Caviar, mousseline au Safran (Scallops Carpaccio and Caviar, Saffron sauce); Chou farci aux légumes du soleil, coulis de tomates fraîches (Stuffed cabbage with summer vegetable, fresh tomato coulis); Langoustines rôties, caviar d’aubergine, miroir Arabica (Roasted langoustines, eggplant caviar, arabica sauce); ending with desserts such as Île flottante aux Pralines roses (Floating island with pink pralines).
One of the oldest restaurants in France, Georges Blanc knows the tradition and steadiness required to present delectable dishes day-after-day which will make patrons come back. You can’t go wrong with this meal. Ever. Reservations are in order.
