Inaugural Chicago auction realizes nearly $3 million


July 9, 2017: Heritage Auctions’ inaugural Summer Fine Jewelry Auction realized almost $3 million in sales as 992 lots sold for $2,877,873, with bidding for diamond rings and earrings leading the way. A few of the highlight pieces include a pear-shaped, Diamond, Platinum 6.26-carat ring which sold at $300,000. As well as a radiant-cut Diamond, Platinum Ring which sold for $93,750 and a pair of Diamond, White Gold earrings that sold for $50,000. Also up for auction were a  20-station Alhambra Turquoise, Gold Necklace by Van Cleef & Arpels sold for $40,000,  an European-cut 6.40 carat Diamond, Platinum, White Gold Ring which also realized $40,000 and Archaeological Revival Glass, Gold Necklace, circa 1880 composed of 18k gold grapevines and leaves which sold for $37,500.
